Microwave Oven

What situations can cause the thermal cutoff to shut down my microwave oven?

  • Running the microwave empty will cause the thermal cutoff to activate and shut the unit down

  • Certain foods such as microwave popcorn, baked potatoes and bacon can activate the thermal cutoffs. To reduce the chance of the thermal cutoffs activating do not place food to be cooked directly on the turntable tray when cooking. Place these items on a microwave safe plate when cooking.
